Another uneventful hospital visit.  He doesn't need to go back for a month now.  Keeping an eye on the rash but it isn't serious.  They still haven't received approval for the chemo drug so he is taking the original one.  Ever so often he gets a strong hit of nausea.

It's what happened afterwards today that has me shaking.

We were driving towards Guelph, on a side road and there was a van on the side.  A guy flagged us down.  I stopped on the road as no one was behind me.  He didn't have much gas, his family was with him, and he needed help/money.  He said he'd give me his jacket.  I asked how he was going to get gas and he said he had enough to get to the station.  Trucks were coming and he asked me to pull over.  I was thinking I could give him $5.  As I was about to pull over, Marlon said it was a scam, he was going to rob us.  He was running towards the car and I continued driving.

I felt lucky Marlon was with me as we noticed all the discrepancies.

If he had enough gas to go to the gas station, why would he be on a side road?

Why would he offer to give me his coat?

Why wouldn't he use his phone and call for help?

The van is parked on the side of the road with the side window fully open to show off the woman and her three kids, sitting, looking out at us, eliciting sympathy.

He could have stolen my purse, the vehicle, hurt us…

At first, I felt bad just driving away until we went over all the red flags.  Then I felt bad for the next person that might get caught and not be so lucky.  By the time I thought to call the police it was likely too late.

So sad in so many ways.

It isn't safe to help others out.

Using children to aid in crime.

Grateful to be surrounded by so much beauty.  The full moon poking between the clouds and I have been appreciating the variety of colours in the cloudy sky
